American Comics Update: DC Debuts: The Complete Ditko Creeper: Showcase #73, Beware the Creeper #1-6, 1st Issue Special #7
*DC: After leaving Marvel, Steve Ditko took his talents to the opposition, and one of his earliest creations for DC was the Creeper, the manic anti-hero who was secretly controversial broadcaster Jack Ryder. Obviously revelling in his liberation, Ditko’s art showed much greater vitality and energy than in his latter days at Marvel, perfectly suiting the skewed viewpoint of his protagonist. Following his debut in Showcase #73, the Creeper was granted his own title, which ran for 6 issues. One last hurrah by Ditko some years later in 1st Issue Special #7. We’ve put together a complete run of all these, available as a set. All pencils by Ditko, except for the cover of #6 (Gil Kane) and the second half of the story in #6 (Jack Sparling).
