*Archie: In 1959, as part of their establishment of a super-hero line for the Silver Age, Archie chose Joe Simon and Jack Kirby to update the Golden Age hero the Shield. Lancelot Strong is a cross of the Simon and Kirby Captain America and the MLJ Shield concepts. Although there are only two issues in this series, the Shield went on to be a cornerstone of the Archie/Mighty Comics super-hero universe. Issue #1 is wall-to-wall Simon & Kirby inc. cover and a short Fly bonus; issue #2 has rather less Kirby (cover and one story), but Joe Simon is joined by others such as Al Williamson & George Tuska. Both issues offered here as a set.
