*Archie: For our complete set this week, we turn to possibly the most famous hero of the pulp era – the Shadow, whose comic exploits have been published by a wide variety of companies over the decades. In 1964, it was Archie’s crack at he ‘who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men.’ The series started conventionally enough with the Shadow up against his arch foe Shiwan Khan, but by issue #3, our hero had evolved into a costumed super-hero, encountering a bewildering variety of wacky super-villains in probably the most bizarre take on this classic character before or since. All 8 issues of this series in an average grade of VG (#5 is only FA) for a truly unique experience.
