*Horror/Mystery 1960s-1980s: Creatures On The Loose (affectionately known here as Creatures On The Loo) was one of Marvel’s 1970s reprint series of the Big Panty Monster era. However, the title took a few detours in its run. One such featured Thongor, Warrior Of Lost Lemuria in issues #22-29. Thongor was the invention of Lin Carter, author, editor and expert on sword and sorcery. Following their success with Conan the Barbarian, Marvel were keen to capitalise on the genre, and landed on Carter’s Thongor, a homage to Robert E Howard’s creation. All eight comic adventures here in that vein in an average VG/FN grade, with a notable cover on #22 by Jim Steranko.
