*Marvel: In my opinion, the team of Roy Thomas and Barry Smith produced the finest ever sword and sorcery adventures in comics in (most of) the first couple of dozen issues of Conan the Barbarian. Six examples from this run new in this week between #3 and #22; you should note that #18 is by guest artist Gil Kane (not too shabby a pinch-hitter, I’m sure you’ll agree) and issue #22 is a deadline doom reprint of Smith’s landmark #1 issue. Roy and Bazza certainly did Robert E Howard proud.
