*DC: The Midas Collection this week treats us to Superman #10 from 1941 and concludes the saga of Luthor’s changing hair colour – here he’s bald! He appears thus in the first story where he’s holding Metropolis to ransom. Lois Lane is nearly conned to give up her job for a spurious job as a movie star. Superman is involved with an evil astrologer and a plot to steal war secrets. A plot involving spies and a submarine that can fly. Cover by Fred Ray. Stories by Jerry Siegel. Art by Wayne Boring (great frontispiece), Leo Nowak & Paul Cassidy. Colour-breaking creases at edges, with numerous small tears and some small losses. Front cover is off bottom staple (attached at back); upper staple okay. Upper spine split of 1.75 cm; lower spine split of about 3 cm. Two centrefolds detached, but comic is complete.
