American Update: Pre-Code Horror Fest: Diary Of Horror
*Horror 1940-1959: One of Avon’s famous one-shots, this time from 1952, this accomplished anthology featured a haunting cover by Hollingsworth, as well as interior art by him, Nodel, Alascia and Nicholas, with a stunning inside front cover prelude by Kintsler. Very distinctive and self-contained. This copy’s worst failing is some central creasing to front and back covers (possibly due to historic water damage, but no staining) with relatively minor colour-breaking creasing to the right edge and a couple of small white scuff marks mid right edge cover. There is some spine roll, but nice cover colour and some gloss. Overall not a bad copy, with nice pages.
