*War: Shortly after the revival of Captain America in Avengers #4, fans started clamouring for ‘untold adventures’ of the hero in his WWII heyday. There were several such ‘flashback’ stories in Cap’s own series in Tales of Suspense, but perhaps the most memorable one was this crossover with Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos in issue #13 of Nick Fury’s own series. This item is less common than many early Marvel Age landmarks, as the war books, like the westerns, tended to be overlooked by fledgling Marvelites, so copies in any condition are uncommon, and this is an outstanding grade for its vintage.
