*Horror/Mystery 1960-1980s: After a few issues in Marvel Spotlight, unfortunate lycanthropic teen Jack Russell (yes, we know) proved such a hit that he launched into his own series with fine scriptwork from Doug Moench and superlatively evocative illustrations by Mike Ploog. This happy alchemy continued until the late teens, when it all went a bit Don Perlin on the visual front, and the series never really recovered, although it did continue until #43 despite Mr. Perlin’s blocky figurework.
