*Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror: We reach the letter ‘S’ in our re-working of this category, starting with an anthologist and an author. Hans Stefan Santesson was the editor of Fantastic Magazine and collects numerous stories from those pages in The Fantastic Universe Omnibus, including many contributions by famous authors. A second anthology from him, Gentle Invaders, tells stories of aliens different from the traditional BEMs, again by famous authors. Richard Saxon, an author well regarded in the 1960s and 70s, whose star has faded a bit since, is represented by three novels on the themes of evolution, evil and time travel.
