*Childrens’ Books: An unusual Alice new to our shelves this week. This is an abridged version designed for younger readers, in a large format (25 x 32 cm) softcover picture book layout, with each page of text faced with a page of illustrations (artist unknown), all in vivid full colour. It’s a somewhat different-looking Alice in a pink dress, but the other characters look like their traditional depictions. Although undated, we believe this is from 1945. In really nice condition with just a few faults: slight rust to staples; centrefold loose; slight creases top left and bottom right. A prize for a dedicated Alice collector, the large format really showing off the lovely artwork.
