*Vintage UK/Australian Reprints of US Material: Something rather special this week. We occasionally get issues of L Miller’s Mystic through our hands, but we’ve only ever had this one once before, attesting to its rarity. Issue #40 reprints the first appearance of Groot, darling of the Guardians of the Galaxy, from Tales To Astonish #13, as well as an Atlas Sub-Mariner and sundry crime and horror reprints from Fawcett and Atlas. (Mystic was far thicker than a standard Marvel or Atlas comic). Groot, by the way, says rather more in his cover speech balloon than I believe he has uttered in his MCU career (cover by Kirby and Ditko). Not cheap, but have you seen the prices on Tales To Astonish #13 recently? A low grade copy, with a 5 x 2 cm hole in the lower front cover and first page (no significant damage to the story). The spine is a little rolled with a 4 cm lower split. Staples a little rusty but firmly in place; creamy coloured pages in decent shape.
