*Boys’ Adventure & War Comics: Here’s a real curiosity and backwater in the stream of British comics. Regarded as an Underground, Sometime Stories was contemporary with the launch of 2000 AD and featured art and writing by Brett Ewins and Brendan McCarthy. Allegedly, they were ripped-off by the publisher and the art for #2 was stolen so the ‘series’ stopped after only one issue. Full of original characters, such as cover-featured Felix Adler and Finn MacCool, private investigators, infused with heavy doses of ’60s pop surrealism, Irish folklore and then-current punk rock attitude. This copy is okay, some edge and spine creasing, with a small nick out at the top of the spine, which doesn’t interfere with anything, with nice clean pages and good staples.
