British Comics Update: Fantasy & Macabre Stories
*Boys’ Adventure & War Comics: In the 1960s, publisher John Spencer attempted a line of American-sized comics (in black and white with full colour covers), that rivalled in tone the bulk of Alan Class comics for subject matter, although the stories within were British originals rather than a reprint. The tag-line on them was ‘The Unknown and Supernatural’ and that’s certainly the fare on offer. We have some examples from two titles in the range fresh in this week.
