Many of the catalogues feature vehicles from TV and film, including James Bond, Batman, Gerry Anderson, the Avengers etc. A selection is pictured below; full details in our catalogue listing with prices and pictures for each item. British Update: It’s A Boys’ Boys’ Boys’ Boy’s World!
*Boys’ Adventure & War Comics: In 1963, Odhams, the publishers of Eagle, decided to expand their line with a new adventure comic, Boys’ World, with a classy line-up of creators including acclaimed novelist Harry Harrison (who created Merlo the Magician for the series) and Ron Embleton, whose illustrations on the mythological fantasy Wrath of the Gods are still well-remembered. Harrison’s own novel ‘Death World’ was adapted into ‘The Angry Planet’, by excising all female characters (well, this was a boys’ comic…), and other notable strips included Dr. Who parody ‘Doctor What’, ‘Ghost World’, ‘Billy Binns’, whose magic spectacles conferred temporary amazing abilities) and ‘Iron Man’ – no relation to the Marvel character, but a story of a humanoid robot finding his way in the world. Both Billy Binns and Iron Man went on to longer careers when the title merged with Eagle after 89 issues. This new influx takes in the end of 1963’s Volume One, and #1 – 32 of 1964’s Volume Two, including Christmas, New Year, and the First Birthday issue with ‘Planes of Tomorrow’ pull-out. Averaging VG/FN, these are mostly attractive copies of a short-lived quality publication.
British Update: Big war-themed Picture Library update
*Boys’ Adventure & War Comics: A chunky update for several war-themed Picture Library titles, including Battle (between #21 & #200), Combat (between #26 & #399), Conflict, Lion (between #22 and #120), Valiant (between #29 & #142) and War (between #40 & #470).
British Update: First Quenchers Plus! Countdown with Free Gift Farrago
*TV & Film Related Comics: Our First Quenchers #1 British comics event continues! When the first series of TV Century 21 faltered, competitors Polystyle were quick to generate a successor in ‘Countdown’, featuring many of the most popular Gerry Anderson TV shows in comic strip form. Fireball XL5, Captain Scarlet, Thunderbirds, Stingray all graced its pages, plus a brand-new sci-fi strip ‘Countdown’, illustrated rather spiffily by John M. Burns, and the star power of a Doctor Who comic series imported from TV Comic! This classy, slick package presented in its first issue a ‘Giant Space Fact Wall Chart’ (stickers to be stuck in in successive weeks), tapping into the public obsession with astronautics following the successful moon landing. Our Countdown #1 is FN, with completed free gift (VF, all stickers/stamps stuck in) on sale at £110. The accompanying second issue is VF £25.
British Update: Fine and Dandy! 1940s vintage issues new to our listings
*Humour Comics: A small but select batch of the founding DC Thomson humour weekly, Dandy, new in; issues #213, #278, #279, and #318 – the former three being the earliest issues now in our inventory. Home of well-remembered characters such as Korky the Cat, Desperate Dan, and Black Bob the wonder Dog (as well as some less well remembered – Danny Longlegs? Nellie Elephant?), Dandy was a part of the psyche of generations of British children, and despite having gone to its rest in 2015, is still recollected fondly. Pictured is issue #279 FN £55.
British Update: Wow! What An Update
*Humour Comics: Just a few Wow!s added to increase the merriment of the shop by another increment. This late addition to Fleetway’s Humour publications now has issues added ranging from #7 to #42.

Books Update: Hell’s Bells – It’s Freewheelin’ Frank
*Crime, Spies & Sleaze: Straddling the genres of Crime and Sleaze is this extremely rare book, touted as the first about Hell’s Angels by a Hell’s Angel. Frank Reynolds, Secretary to the San Francisco chapter in the 1960s recounts his adventures to Michael McClure, confirming all of Middle America’s worst fears. Interestingly, Frank emerged from this part of his life to become a Zen hermit!

American Update: A Kirby Trilogy! Demon, Kamandi and Omac First Issues
*DC: Following his critically-acclaimed ‘Fourth World’ series of intersecting titles at DC, Jack Kirby branched out into three stand-alone series. (Lesser talents have subsequently tried to ‘link’ them, but we shrug dismissively at such efforts). The Demon told of Jason Blood, an innocent man possessed by a mediaeval entity, the malevolent Etrigan, and Blood’s struggles to subvert the Demon’s powers for good; Kamandi, in the wake of the Planet of the Apes phenomenon, showed a post-apocalyptic future in which all humanity has degraded to virtual beasts, oppressed by all manner of super-evolved animals and Omac – One-Man Army Corps – was a near-future upgrade of Kirby’s Captain America concept, as feeble Buddy Blank became the invincible superhuman warrior under the omniscient direction of Brother Eye, in a 1984-insipred surveillance-ridden future which has particular resonance in the present day. The first issues of these series, the premier appearances of each title character, are new in, in high grade Cents copies, no UK price stamp; Demon #1 VF £50, Kamandi #1 VF+ £50 and Omac #1 FN/VF £20.
American Update: The ‘Death’ of Superman! Superman (second series) #75 Collectors’ Edition
*DC: In 1993, the wider world was rocked by the demise of Superman, who perished at the hands of the man-monster named Doomsday. Cynical fans, of course, knew better, fully expecting the Man of Steel’s eventual return, but the media brouhaha was considerable, driving civilians into comics shops in unprecedented numbers. We have the Deluxe Collectors’ Edition of Superman #75 back in stock, and still sealed in the original bag with all the free gift paraphernalia, 1st print, NM at £30.
American Update: Mighty Marvel Firsts: Daredevil #1, first appearance and origin!
*Marvel: This week’s entry in our Mighty Marvel Firsts event is Daredevil #1. After the successes of the Fantastic Four and Spider-Man, Stan Lee enlisted his old colleague, Bill Everett, to co-create this acrobatic avenger of the streets. In a yellow and red costume intended to evoke the jester-style livery of the 1940s Daredevil, Matt Murdock lost his sight but gained phenomenal sensory powers, using them and his athletic skills to avenge the murder of his father…and the rest was history. Following his successful Netflix series, Daredevil has finally washed away the stain of the Affleck movie, and Marvel’s Sightless Swashbuckler has never been more popular! This copy of his premier issue is GD/VG, with minor foxing at the spine & top edge, minor corner and edge wear, and one diagonal cover crease at top right corner, but firm staples and excellent interior pages. A highly attractive mid-grade copy of an increasingly popular debut, pence copy on sale at £600. Stay tuned for another Mighty Marvel First next week! SORRY, THIS HAS NOW SOLD
American Update: Spider-Mania: Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man #1
*Marvel: 1976’s Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man #1 marked the second ongoing Spider-Man title published by Marvel, in what people feared might dilute the franchise – if only they knew! Intended originally to focus more on Spidey’s civilian alter ego, it rapidly evolved into an adjunct to and frequent crossover with Amazing Spider-Man, founding the practise which was to become industry standard in later decades. This copy of PPSM #1 is VF+, cents copy with no UK price or overstamp, at £35. SORRY, THIS HAS NOW SOLD
American Update: High Grade Bronze Age Iron Man Issues
*Marvel: A selection of extremely attractively graded Iron Man issues from the Seventies, numbers ranging from #41 to #60. Pence copies, the lowest grade on these beauties is VF, with many achieving the heights of NM; bright, glossy copies with vivid colour, tight staples and white interiors. This period also features, coincidentally, several of the goofier adversaries in the Golden Avenger’s Rogue’s Gallery: Demon-Queen, Firebrand, Raga Son of Fire, and most oddball costume of all, the Slasher! (IM #41; look it up online, we dare you) Pictured is the pick of the litter, #56 NM p £69, a Jim Starlin homage to the Big Panty Monsters of yesteryear.
American Update: 1980s X-Men including key issues
*Marvel: A nice selection of 1980s X-Men in this week, almost all high grade, between issues #166 & #258, mostly filling gaps in our stock including the following key issues: #212 & #213 (Wolverine vs Sabretooth both NM p at £19 each), #221 (1st Mr. Sinister NM p £30), #244 (1st Jubilee NM p £30) & #256 (1st Psylocke as Asian ninja NM p £13.75).
American Update: Amazing Fantasy Omnibus – Complete Series in Deluxe Hardcover!
*Modern Reprints: In the days before the Marvel Universe, Stan Lee and Steve Ditko provided scores of collaborations for the ‘Big Panty Monster’ series such as Strange Tales and Tales to Astonish, twist-ending fables with a sting in the tale. These proved so popular that one of the newer BPM titles, Amazing Adventures, was, with its seventh issue, rechristened Amazing Adult Fantasy (in the days when Adult had a more innocent connotation), and devoted entirely to the Lee & Ditko twist-ending short stories. Despite raves from the fans, the new format was not a success with greater America, and with its final issue – renamed again, to just Amazing Fantasy – Stan & Steve tried a roll of the dice to achieve commercial success with an offbeat character called Spider-Man, of whom you may have heard. This lavish hardcover full-colour volume, published in 2007 and now long out of print, re-presents the entire series in all its permutations, Amazing Adventures to Amazing Adult Fantasy to plain Amazing Fantasy, a parade of many of Marvel’s finest early moments. This is a superior copy, at first glance virtually as new, but closer examination does reveal minor wear at the top and bottom of the dustjacket, and two creases in the lower dustjacket. Therefore we have graded it VF and priced it at £120.
British Update: A Bumper Crop Of Annuals
*Annuals: Offering evocative retro presents for the festive season, we’ve overhauled our stock of annuals, adding dozens in the following sub-categories:
Humour: Beano, Beezer, Buster, Dandy & Dennis the Menace – lots from the 1970s to the 2000s.
TV & Film Related: Star Wars 1980s.
Boys’ Adventure: Lots of Marvel from the 1970s/80s – Mighty World of Marvel, Spider-Man, Super-Heroes & Titans; Plus Starlord and Tornado.
Western: Lone Ranger
Girls: Bunty, Debbie, Judy, Mandy, Patches & Tammy (mostly 1980s).
British Update: First Quenchers for the budget conscious – Boys’ Adventure & War #1 issues
*Boys’ Adventure & War Comics: In the field of comics collecting, first issues are almost always the most in-demand of a long run, and prices tend to be proportionately higher, but we’re pleased to offer several first Boys’ Adventure issues from the 1960s and 1970s in affordable low to mid grades, for your reading enjoyment! While all of these have some wear and blemishes, all are complete, with all pages and part pages intact. This band of battered brothers are: Bullet #1 VG £15, Jet #1 FA £10 (with #2 FA £5), Super DC #1 PR/FA £6, Tornado #1 GD £15 and Warlord #1 FA £7.50. SORRY, THESE ARE NOW SOLD
British Update: Air Ace Picture Library
*Boys’ Adventure & War Picture Libraries: It’s been some time since we’ve had a decent update to the popular Air Ace Picture Library title; of late it’s been rarer in our marketplace than its contemporaries, but at last we’re able to add approx 20 issues to our catalogue, all new in, ranging from #8 to #461.
British Update: Everything Emma (well, almost)
*Girls’ Comics: Many issues from #3 right up to the final issue (#81) of the short-lived but well regarded comic Emma, including the Christmas issue (#45) and a Valentine issue (#52). Our favourire strip, ‘the White Mouse’ stars a plucky mam’selle of the resistance who dons a giant mouse outfit to outwit the Nazis. As you do.
Shop Update: ‘The Home Of Alan Class Comics’
As mentioned previously, we’ve now relocated all our Alan Class material (regular comics, certificated comics and collectors’ printing plate sets) together in one fixture towards the rear of the shop ground floor in an area we’ve designated ‘The Home Of Alan Class Comics’; it houses approx 1500 Alan Class Comics and over 50 printing plate sets. We’re displaying the boxes with Alan Class’s distinctive symbol and we’ve added a photo of Alan, together with his information on his publishing history, a sample certificate and an explanation of what you can expect to get in a printing plate set. We’ve still working on a vast amount of material excavated from his archives, and we expect to continue featuring many updates to our stock in the year ahead.
Clearance Corner: The Comic Crack’d: Cracked Magazine Bargain Bundle – 45 issues for £15!
*Clearance Corner: Cracked Magazine, a cheerfully blatant imitation of Mad, was published from 1958 to 2007 before reinventing itself as a website which bears little resemblance to its print incarnation. In its heyday, however, it was popular enough to launch both British and Australian editions, which reprinted the US material but often in different configurations. Satires of popular TV series and movies were a staple – frequently illustrated by EC and Marvel veteran John Severin, a mainstay of the magazine for most of its first run – and lifestyle ‘interview’ segments, conducted by the unfeasibly behootered Nanny Dickering (illustrated by definitive ‘Good Girl’ artist Bill Ward) were frequent. This bargain selection of British Cracked – with a couple of Australian editions thrown on the Barbie – is offered at £15 for 45 issues averaging VG condition (including Collectors’ Editions, King-Size issues, Giant issues and a Super issue), with postage (UK only), if required, costing an additional £13.50. SORRY, THIS LOT HAS NOW SOLD
Books Update: Lashings Of Modesty
*Crime, Spies & Sleaze: At long last we replenish our stocks of Modesty Blaise paperback novels, including A Taste For Death, Last Day In Limbo, Modesty Blaise, Sabre-Tooth & The Impossible Virgin. Often compared to her contemporary James Bond, we have always found Modesty to be superior! If you haven’t tried Modesty, she really is the best policy, and at prices between £3-£8, an excellent choice!
Clearance Corner: 7 Giant Marvel Vintage Reprint titles from the 1960s for just £12
*Clearance Corner: This week’s bargain lot comprises 7 of those giant Marvel reprint titles from the 1960s, which carried reprints of the earliest Marvel super-hero stories. 2 x Marvel Collectors’ Item Classics (#9 & #12), 1 x Fantasy Masterpieces (#11) and 4 x Marvel Tales (#4, #6, #18 & #20). Average GD/VG condition. Great bargain reading at just £12 for the lot. These fit into a stiff mailer and UK postage if required would be an additional £3.50. SORRY, THIS LOT HAS NOW SOLD
British Update: The British Are Coming! Long Hot Summer – June & School Friend Holiday Specials and Special Extras, including Rare Early Issues!
*Girls’ Comics: The latest entry in our ‘British Are Coming’ event is a bit of a poser. It’s not often that we are at a loss to definitely identify dates for our stock, but this time we have to own up: Bessie Bunter and her pals have stumped the panel! We have a magnificent seven June Specials new to our lists this week, but the earlier four have neither external date nor interior copyright dates, and the information on the internet and elsewhere is both scanty and contradictory. We believe the one pictured with the horse eating cake, is the first Special Extra from 1968, and that the other three in the yellow livery are from 1968 and 1969 (1970 and later appear to have a cover price of 3/-, rather than 2/6). If you have any definite information, of course, please let us know. The remaining three later issues are more obliging, giving their dates on the front covers. June is a popular girl, regardless of who she’s paired with, and the Holiday Specials from this long-running series seem rarer than those of her sisters. The – putatively – 1968 Special Extra (horse eating cake) is a stunning FN+, at £100; the second Special Extra (Bessie eating aples) is VG £75. Of the two earlier Holiday Specials, Bessie on inflatable is VG £75; Bessie in boat is PR/FA £30. Following along is June & Pixie Holiday Special 1976 VG £40, June & School Friend Holiday Special 1977 VG £40, and June & School Friend Holiday Special 1978 FN £50. In our 25 years of trading, we have never actually seen the earlier four items before, so while we can’t say with confidence exactly what dates they are, we are completely sure of their rarity, so don’t wait for another quarter of a century for them to come up again! SORRY, THESE HAVE NOW SOLD
Housekeeping Update
On a regular cycle, we sweep through our entire stock to delete sold items and keep our listing as up to date as possible. We’ve just finished deleting sold items from the following files in our American section:
*Modern Reprints
and in our American/British section:
*Tarzan/E R Burroughs

American Update: Morpheus, Master of Dreams – Neil Gaiman’s Sandman #1
*DC: In 1989, Neil Gaiman, not yet the superstar author he would later become, took the venerable DC superhero the Sandman and completely refurbished the concept – revamping the titular hero as an immortal embodiment of the Dreamworld, Gaiman opened the door to a myriad of adventurous possibilities, modernising the concept without invalidating or discarding either previous Sandman series (the 1940s and 1970s strips), but instead enfolding them into a larger meta-narrative. The Neil Gaiman Sandman series ran for 75 issues and a Special, and won an insane array of awards. This is where it all began, in this instance in a beautiful NM/M pence copy, on sale for £135. You know us, we’re very picky graders and believe if submitted to a third party grader, this would qualify as a 9.8.
American Update: Legends #3 – 1st apprearance modern Suicide Squad
*DC: In the third issue of their 1987 company-wide crossover Legends, DC introduced, as one of a fistful of new concepts they were generating post-Crisis, a new iteration of the Suicide Squad concept. While the name ‘Suicide Squad’ had been used twice in the DCU before – once for a team of non-superpowered adventurers in Brave & Bold, and once for a series of stories in the war titles, this was the one which caught fire. Comprised of reluctantly reformed super-villains, the team took on insanely hazardous missions with the dangling promise of freedom if they earned enough ‘time’ off their sentences – or the alternative of a swift and brutal death at the hands of their governmental captors if they crossed the line. This Suicide Squad was a massive hit, spinning off into several acclaimed series and featuring, of course, in the recent cinematic blockbuster which, though flawed, was nevertheless a huge commercial success. This debut appearance is an NM pence copy on sale at £25.
American Update: Mighty Marvel Firsts: Captain America in Avengers #4
*Marvel: Starting this week, and every week until further notice, we’ll be featuring the first appearance of a major Marvel character brand new into our stock. Our Mighty Marvel Firsts event commences with the Star Spangled Avenger. In the fourth issue of Marvel’s Avengers series, the already formidable team of Iron Man, Thor, Giant-Man and the Wasp was augmented by one of the legendary heroes from the past. Captain America returned to action after years in Post-WWII suspended animation, and rapidly became the acknowledged heart and soul of the Avengers, who have never flourished for long without him! This copy of an iconic issue is an attractive VG-, virtually unmarred cover scene with only a faint diagonal crease across Sub-Mariner’s face in the inset picture. Very nice page quality, tight staples at spine and centrefold. A pence priced copy, it is on sale at £400. Stay tuned for another Mighty Marvel First next week! SORRY, THIS HAS NOW SOLD
American Update: Spider-Mania stars the Carnage Trilogy- Amazing #361-363
*Marvel: Following the mammoth success of Venom, Marvel tried to make the lightning strike twice by introducing yet another symbiotic murderous villain into the Spider-Man universe – and, against all odds, succeeded, as Carnage proved every bit as popular as his ‘daddy’ Venom! Amazing Spider-Man issues #361 to #363 brought us “The Carnage Trilogy”, featuring the premier appearance and first major story arc of, well, you know who, one of the major villains of the Marvel Universe. #361 is NM- p at £50, #362 NM- p £10 and #363 NM p £12.50. SORRY, #361 NOW SOLD
American Update: “Prisoner of the Reds” – Nice Grade Early Thor in Journey Into Mystery #87
*Marvel: This week’s early Marvel spotlight falls on the God of Thunder, who in Journey Into Mystery #87 was captured by Communists, who back then were responsible for all the ailments of the world – at least if the US Media were to be believed! By Lee & Kirby (with a dash of assistance from Stan’s younger brother Larry Lieber), this is in prime condition, a vivid red unfaded cover background, unmarred cover scene, and superior interior page quality making this a highly attractive FN copy. A cents copy with no UK stamp or overprint, on sale at £175.
American Update: Hulk Vs. Wolverine – sought-after crossover in Hulk #340
*Marvel: A bit modern by our normal criteria, but a keenly-sought issue, 1988’s Hulk #340 was early in the acclaimed Peter David run, and featured a crossover with the X-Men’s hot ticket Wolverine, including an admittedly striking cover image (Hulk reflected in Wolverine’s claws) which has helped this to become a collector’s item. Art by Todd McFarlane, about whom we can only shrug helplessly and say, in the words of Miss Brodie, “If you like that sort of thing, then this is the sort of thing you like”. Plenty of people do like it (lucky us) and this VF- pence copy is on sale at £25. SORRY, THIS HAS NOW SOLD
American Update: A stupendous Marvel Silver/Bronze sweep
*Marvel: Not just any old sweep, but a stupendous one this week, featuring selections from the following titles: Astonishing Tales, Avengers (inc. #9 PR/FA p 1st Wonder Man £14.75, 11 GD p £25 guest-starring Spider-Man, #58 VG p £17.50 Vision origin, #196 FN+ p £20 1st Taskmaster), Captain America (#111 VG+ p £15 Steranko), Daredevil, Defenders (#10 VF- £35 Hulk Vs Thor), Doctor Strange (1st series), Fantastic Four (inc. #28 GD+ £43 X-Men crossover, #66 VG p £29 Him Prelude), Iron Man (#2 GD/VG p £13.25), Journey Into Mystery with Thor (inc. #114 VG+ £46 1st Absorbing Man), Logan’s Run, Ms. Marvel, Nick Fury Agent of SHIELD, Strange Tales, Tales Of Suspense, Tales To Astonish and Thor (#225 FN £15 1st Firelord). Dozens of issues added in this update, very many of them filling gaps in our listings.
American Update: Two-Gun Kid – Golden and Silver Age variants!
*Western: The history of the Two-Gun Kid is a tad confusing – making his debut as a black-clad, golden-haired troubadour named Clay Harder, who was as prone to burst into song as use his weapons, then unexpectedly metamorphosing in 1962 into Matt Hawk, mild-mannered attorney at law, who was purportedly inspired by dime novels of the Clay Harder character to assume the masked alias of the Two-Gun Kid! How very postmodern of Stan and Jack. Confusingly, both versions of the Kid shared the same numbering sequence, the second version premiering in issue #60. We are pleased to have a selection of both versions of TGK new in, beginning with issue #11 and running through to #100. His Rogue’s Gallery includes ‘prototypes’ the Purple Phantom (for the Western Ghost Rider) and the Panther (for Black Panther), Goliath, Jesse James, the Rattler, Geronimo, and Billy the Kid, and other highlights include team-ups with fellow Marvel gunslingers Rawhide Kid and Kid Colt. Pictured are issue #34 VG+ £20, #59 (final ‘old’ TGK) VG £15.25 and #75 FN £18. For prices and conditions on the others, check out our rough-ridin’ online catalogue!
American Update: DC Chronicles – Classic Silver Age Flash and Golden Age Superman
*Modern Reprints: More from DC’s Chronicles series, full-colour paperbacks devoted to reprinting every issue of the series in exact chronological order. Newly listed are Flash (Silver Age) volumes 1, 3 and 4 and Superman (Golden Age) 4, 5 and 6, all in VF/NM to NM condition.

Something for everyone!
British Update: First Quenchers with Free Gift Farrago: Marvel UK Secret Wars #1
*Marvel UK: In 1985, Marvel’s UK arm commenced repackaging the hugely-popular Secret Wars series in weekly format, and kicked off a highly successful series which ran for 80 issues, representing Secret Wars, Secret Wars II, and a plethora of cross-over issues in one meta-narrative. This first issue in an attractive VF, and features not only the original free gift (rub-down transfers), but also the competition form enclosed with the first issue which offered the chance to win a set of Secret Wars Heroes & Villains! (Sorry, entries now closed.) This VF copy is available for £20.
British Update: Beano & TV Related Annuals
*Annuals: Just in time for the festive season, and helping to celebrate our Christmas window, we have a new selection of Beano annuals in stock from the 1970s to the 1990s, plus some Gerry Anderson related annuals: Countdown from 1972/73 (72 pictured), TV Action from 1974 and UFO from 1971. A very traditional Ghristmas gift to delight your loved ones!
British Update: First Quenchers! Champion #1 from 1966
*Boys’ Adventure & War Comics: Continuing our First Quenchers event featuring UK #1 issues! In the 1960s, IPC/Fleetway launched not one, but two weekly adventure comics that were heavily promoted as “Companion papers to Valiant”, neither of which, peculiarly, ended up merging with Valiant; one such was Hurricane, which merged with Tiger, and the other was Champion. 1966’s Champion #1 looked a bit odd to contemporary audiences, because more than half its content (though the readers had no way of knowing it at the time) was reprinted from European sources. Among the new material, though, was some imaginative stuff, including ‘Return of the Stormtroopers’, ‘School for Spacemen’, and a bona-fide superhero, ‘The Phantom Viking’. Readers didn’t take to the imports, though, and after only fifteen issues, the title folded into Lion, with ‘Phantom Viking’, ‘Stormtroopers’ and a couple of humour strips making the leap across. This debut issue is a superior copy, VG at £40. SORRY, THIS HAS NOW SOLD
British Update: No need to CHAMP at the bit — we’ve got almost the whole run inc. Free Gift Farrago
*Boys’ Adventure & War Comics: D C Thomson’s late entry into this category, Champ, lasted a very respectable 87 issues from 1984/85 and offered traditional fare in the shape of football and adventure strips with comedy relief. We have the entire run from first to last (except #53) fresh into stock including the sole Christmas issue. #1-4 include Free Gifts as follows: #1 VG/FN £17.50 with NM Free Gift (Super Soccer Slide Guide); #2 FN £15 with NM Free Gift (Soccer Star Pics and display wallet); #3 FN £9 with NM Free Gift (Soccer Star Pics); #4 FN £10 with NM Free Gift (Snappy Sticker Badges).
British Update: Long Hot Summer – Rare Doctor Who Holiday Special from 1974
*TV & Film Related Comics: Before Marvel UK took over the Doctor Who franchise, it was in the hands of Polystyle Publishers, who steered the good Doctor through long runs of his comic-strip in TV Comic and Countdown/TV Action. This is a pre-Marvel Holiday Special from 1974, with features focusing on the Jon Pertwee iteration of Gallifrey’s favourite son in, admittedly, only Fair condition (considerable cover creasing and wear, weak staples), but because of its extreme scarcity, on sale at £20. SORRY, THIS HAS NOW SOLD

American Update: Batmania concludes with two Neal Adams Favourites
*DC: We conclude our current Batmania event with two high demand issues. Batman #227 has a classic Neal Adams gothic cover (interior art by Irv Novick) swiped from Detective Comics #31. We have a nice FN+ pence stamped copy at £125, with the only defects being some very slight foxing at the top of the inside front cover and splash page and a very tiny chip out of the bottom of the spine. Adams is rampant on Batman #251, THE classic Joker cover and story with his art on cover and throughout. This new-in copy is also pence stamped and graded at GD-, with worn spine and a 1/2″ tear running through the book from centre spine; but at £25, it’s sure to be gone before you can say Bruce Wayne. That’s all the Batman for now, but we’ll have more offerings here very soon, in our most sensational sequence of Batmania ever! SORRY, THESE HAVE NOW SOLD
